Is Invisalign better

Is Invisalign Better Than Other Clear Aligners?

Why Chose Invisalign Leicester?

There are many ways to straighten teeth. The most common being fixed metal braces also known as train tracks. Over the years, technology has become more advance and given us ways to straighten teeth with minimal visibility and impact to our daily routines. Align Technology, Inc. the company that makes Invisalign clear aligners was founded in 1997 and they are available worldwide. In recent years, companies have begun using similar technologies to create clear aligners remotely. These companies are offering fast smiles at cheap prices. So why chose Invisalign?

The Difference Between Invisalign Leicester and Similar Companies?

While all of these companies offer clear aligners. The biggest difference is that Invisalign is sold, administered and monitored by dentists and orthodontists throughout treatment. While the other companies do employ qualified and registered dentists and orthodontists. The patient has no direct interaction with them meaning patients are responsible for taking their own impressions and monitoring their own treatment progress.

Invisalign uses superior materials and technologies, as well as, over 10 million cases worth of research and data. This makes sure every patient gets bespoke treatment fitted around their idea of a perfect smile. Invisalign also uses ‘power buttons’ to help rotate and move teeth up and down in the smile line. These are not available through remote aligner companies.

Cost and Treatment Time Invisalign Leicester

Invisalign treatment costs between £2000-£3695 and takes roughly 6-18 months depending on the complexity of the case. Other companies cost between £1500 and £2000 and claim to straighten teeth in as little as 4 months. While cost and time are definitely factors to consider they shouldn’t be the only consideration you make.

Impressions

It can be very difficult to take a good impression even for a dentist or a nurse that has received training on how to do so. Occasionally, even the professionals need to repeat an impression if it is not to a good enough standard.
Most dental practices that offer Invisalign also offer a 3D scan. While these are available from other companies. They are not accessible to everyone dependent on location. This means the majority of smile direct impressions are taken at home by less experienced individuals. Which leaves a lot of room for error in a procedure that needs to be precise.

Dental Care Before, During and After Treatment

With Invisalign before treatment we will take photographs, X-rays of the teeth and bone and make a full assessment of the health of the teeth and gums. This is important because we need these to determine if it is safe and if a patient is a good candidate for clear aligners. None of these checks can be completed remotely. Meaning that getting treatment with remote clear aligner companies can be dangerous and cause more harm than good. With Invisalign before you you go ahead with treatment you will also receive a video representation of the treatment plan and tooth movements. You can see how things will change throughout treatment and get a glimpse of the end result before your aligners are made.

During Treatment

Regular visits to the dentist during Invisalign treatment also allows the dentist to assess the progress of movement and address any questions or problems that may arise. Having a dentist overlooking your case also allows the dentist to adjust the treatment plan if necessary. While the other companies do offer 24/7 customer service. It should be made clear that it is a phone call or email not a dental appointment. Thus, they may not be able to resolve your problem.

After Treatment

At the end of treatment Invisalign also offers refinements to make small adjustments ensuring the patient is happy with the end result. Invisalign generally has a more stable result, as they also correct the way the teeth bite together and interlock. Lots of dental practices that offer Invisalign also offer complimentary whitening. They may also offer large discounts on retainers. Which are necessary to make sure the teeth do not move back after treatment. Remote companies sometimes offer touch up aligners, but only under certain circumstances. These companies also only aim to straighten teeth and make them look nice. They have no responsibility to ensure the bite is correct and that teeth interlock. Retainers are also the responsibility of the patient.

Liability

Who is liable if things go wrong?

When having Invisalign the dentist or orthodontist overseeing your case will be held accountable should you not get your desired result or if things go wrong. Whereas, remote companies generally make it difficult to make complaints and get resolutions.

In conclusion

For patients with very minor alignment issues and a limited budget, remote aligner companies could provide adequate results. But is still discouraged by dentists as moving teeth without knowing the conditions of the gums and bones is dangerous. Although initially cheaper, remote aligner companies are not good value for money. If problems arise you may even end up spending thousands on fixing the damage caused.

Invisalign are world leaders in clear aligners and have had the funding and opportunity to develop and engineer fantastic technologies. This makes them far superior, more reliable and a lot safer than their competitors. Invisalign has a long and successful history of creating beautiful smiles and is regulated and approved by dentists.
